The isolate CO33 of Xylella fastidiosa was isolated from a coffee plant intercepted in northern Italy, and imported from Costa Rica. This isolate proved to contain a novel genotype, characterized by an hitherto new MLST profile. Genomic DNA for sequencing was recovered from pure cultures established from symptomatic leaves.
