Xylella seminar: Screening for Xylella fastidiosa genes important in plant infection with transposon mutagenesis sequencing

Event

Description

Thirteenth seminar of the new Xylella Seminar Series jointly organised by the EU funded Bexyl project, EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) and Auburn University.  Lindsey Burbank, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), USA, gave a presentation entitled Screening for Xylella fastidiosa genes important in plant infection with transposon mutagenesis sequencing. This research focuses on exploring the feasibility of transposon sequencing (Tnseq) for identification of virulence genes in X. fastidiosa, with the hypothesis that this would uncover genes or pathways not previously associated with plant infection.
