Seventeenth seminar of the new Xylella Seminar Series jointly organised by the EU funded Bexyl project, EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) and Auburn University. Miguel Román, Institute for Sustainable Agriculture (IAS-CSIC), Spain, gave a presentation entitled Biology, ecology and epidemiology of Xylella fastidiosa in Spain. Miguel Román is a Ph.D. student in Agronomy, Food, Forestry, and Rural Development Engineering at IAS-CSIC. His research focuses on the study of the biology and ecology of Xylella fastidiosa genotypes associated with European outbreaks and their potential pathogenicity in economically important crops. His research also explores the use of proximal sensors for early detection of infection.
