Presentations of the EUPHRESCO III Open Data Webinar

Event

Description

On 2025-05-13, the 'EUPHRESCO III Open Data Webinar' took place online.  Open data is considered the new oil. As oil can be used to produce fertilizers, lubricants, plastics and many other derivatives, so data is considered the commodity to use and re-use to create value.  Opening research data and publishing open access articles and documents have become a requirement for many publicly funded research projects. In line with the responsibilities of research funders and their networks, that have a pivotal role in promoting FAIR practices and in advancing open science, this webinar was organized to raise awareness about the benefit of open science, to provide an overview of the international framework, showcase the perspectives of public and private donors and present what has been done in the framework of Euphresco and EUPHRESCO III to support the plant health community.

Presentation Heikkurinen: Connecting data and people: CODATA and the cross-domain interoperability framework.

Presentation Parr: Enabling access to data in agricultural development grants. Lessons from building the FAIR Process Framework for the Gates Foundation.

Presentation Sarman: Open research data from a Swiss perspective.

Presentation Bird:  Global Agricultural Research Archive: open science and practice.

Presentation Giovani: Euphresco as a knowledge hub for the exchange of information.

The pdf file compiles all the presentations made during the webinar.
