Description

Twenty Sixth seminar of the new Xylella Seminar Series jointly organised by the EU funded Bexyl project, EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) and Auburn University.  Mamata K C, from the Auburn University (USA) gave a presentation titled: Xylem sap growth and biofilm formation of Xylella fastidiosa and its connection with host adaptation and virulence.

Mamata K C recently completed her Master’s degree in Plant Pathology at Auburn University, where her research focused on host adaptation and virulence of Xylella fastidiosa. Her work examined how xylem sap influences bacterial growth and biofilm formation using in vitro assays, microfluidic systems, and greenhouse experiments in grapevine and blueberry. She has recently joined the University of Georgia as a PhD student in Plant Pathology and will continue working in the Xylella pathosystem.
